Farmers Cliff in Cape Point

The point to point hike starts at the Smitswinkel Viewpoint on the left of the Cape of Good Hope Drive shortly after the entrance to Cape Point. It follows the cliffs along the eastern edge of the reserve until Kanonkop where you take a sharp down path to the coast which is an easy but relatively steep descent to the Booi se Skerm parking on Black Rock Road. 

Note: Cape Point payment is credit card only and ID is required. 

Meeting Point: Leave cars at the Booi se Skerm parking on Black Rock Rd and return to the start of the hike at the Smitswinkel Bay viewpoint parking.

After the hike, visit the Scone Shack on Lalaphanzi Farm just outside the Cape Point Reserve or continue on to Venus Pool for a swim and snorkel. (See below) 

Venus Pool

Venus Pool on the coast near Booi se Skerm is a beautiful, natural tidal pool in Cape Point, surrounded by terraces of flat rocks. 

The shallow pool is filled with fish, sea urchins, anemones, and starfish, making it perfect for snorkelling. It's also a great place to relax and enjoy a picnic. 

To reach the pool, head north from the Booi se Skerm parking either along the old tar road or via the coastal path. After about 15 min you will reach a short down path and steps to the rock terraces.
