The Stone Holes of Klein Tuinkop is a quieter alternative to the more popular Kalk Bay hiking trails. The route explores the slopes of Cave Peak before continuing to the unusual rock formations on Klein Tuinkop. Highlights include numerous cave entrances beneath the cliffs, the Stone Holes —a cluster of naturally weathered sandstone formations—expansive views across False Bay, and the cool Afromontane Forest of Spes Bona Valley. Start — From Godfrey Rd in  Kalk Bay, ascend to the saddle between Kalk Bay and Clovelly. Turn towards Cave Peak and continue up the mountain to the base of the cliffs. The Climb — Traverse left along the base of the cliffs for a few hundred metres until you reach a broad cleft in the rock face. Scramble up the steep path, using a simple root-assisted pull-up near the top, then continue onto the upper slopes of Cave Peak. Varied, atmospheric, and full of surprises, this less-traversed Kalk Bay hike explores the mountain slopes of Cave Peak above Kalk Bay and Clovelly. The hike showcases some of the most distinctive features of the area, including numerous cave entrances along the cliffs, the cool Afromontane forest of Echo Valley, and a return journey through an unusual natural rock arch back to the saddle between Kalk Bay and Clovelly. Start — From Kalk Bay or Clovelly, ascend to the saddle between the two suburbs, then turn toward Cave Peak and walk upward to the base of the cliffs. A rewarding Silvermine hike across High and Lower Steenberg,  located in the Silvermine Nature Reserve on the South Peninsula in Cape Town. This Silvermine hiking trail features open ridge walking, excellent views, and an attractive fynbos-lined single-track, with steady ascents and a straightforward jeep-track return. Start — From the Silvermine East parking area in the Silvermine Nature Reserve , follow a steady, relatively steep ascent to High Steenberg. Continue onto the ridge, following a rocky path toward Lower Steenberg with one easy step-down scramble. To Lower Steenberg — On reaching the jeep track, turn left briefly before leaving it to ascend onto Lower Steenberg. The route then follows the ridge along Lower Steenberg back toward a transmission mast.
