Originally created as an online resource for a local hiking group, Hiking in the South has grown into a carefully selected collection of over 30 hikes in the southern suburbs of Cape Town. The emphasis is on quality routes, clear descriptions, and practical navigation support.

The hikes featured range from coastal walks and mountain paths to forest routes and lesser-known local favourites. Well-known areas such as Silvermine and Cape Point are included, alongside quieter routes around Fish Hoek, Kalk Bay, Clovelly, Noordhoek, Constantia, and Muizenberg.

Each hike includes grading information, route notes, and links to AllTrails maps to assist with planning and navigation. Where available, GPX downloads are provided for use on GPS devices and mobile apps.

While many of the routes are straightforward, conditions and trail markings can vary. Hikers are encouraged to read the Grading and Route Notes carefully and to plan accordingly.

Route maps for the hikes can also be found via the AllTrails app: Hiking in the South on AllTrails
