Camel Rock - Constantia Nek
A challenging but exciting hike with some easy scrambling, beautiful fynbos, stunning views, unusual rock formations and a large dam at the top. It’s an ideal route for cold or windy days, as it is well-protected from the South-Easter.

Meeting Point: Park at Constantia Nek parking at circle where Rhodes Drive meets Hout Bay Main Rd and Constantia Main Rd. Meet near boom at end of jeep track.

Route Notes: Very little easy scrambling. One very short scramble with mild exposure but not technically difficult.

The Overseers Cottage
The Overseer's Cottage, built over a century ago to oversee the construction of the Table Mountain dams, offers a rustic yet comfortable self-catering retreat on top of Table Mountain. Accommodating up to 16 people in two separate units, it is an ideal getaway for those seeking a unique Cape Town mountain experience.
The cottage is off the grid, with no electricity, but has running water, a gas fridge and stove, paraffin lanterns, and limited solar lighting. There are braai facilities at the back and a large deck at the front.
Situated near the De Villiers Dam and the Back Table, the cottage provides easy access to some of the most scenic hikes on the mountain and incredible night views of the city below.
Access is on foot, with the most convenient route from Constantia Corner, either via the jeep track or the more adventurous Camel Rock path, with an optional stunning return through Disa Gorge.

Fantastic hike. Great in summer as it is mostly in the shade in the morning.
