Skeleton Gorge to Cecilia Ridge - Kirstenbosch

De Villiers Dam Table Mountain

A classic Table Mountain Circuit combining the steep ascent of Skeleton Gorge with the open ridge-line descent of Cecilia Ridge. This route offers shaded forest climbs, sweeping mountain views, and a rewarding finish through Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens.

Start From the Top Gate of Kirstenbosch, follow the path just before the restaurant up to the start of Skeleton Gorge. Ascend through the gorge, staying in the watercourse after the ladders until a clear path branches right.

Contour — At the top, head to the left and continue past the start of the Nursery Ravine down route to join the concrete road. Pass the Overseers Cottage, and take the next left onto the path that leads to the Cecilia Ridge descent.

Return Route — At the bottom, join the contour path and return through Kirstenbosch Gardens to the parking area.
